What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 91 days or more before departure are eligible for a refund, minus a $350 per person administrative fee. For cancellations occurring between 90 and 60 days before departure, a $500 per person non-refundable fee applies. All payments become non-refundable within 60 days of departure, regardless of the reason for cancellation. Once airline tickets are issued, they are non-refundable.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing. No refunds are provided for unused portions of the trip. If a roommate cancels, the single supplement fee will be added to your invoice. You may be able to recover certain costs through your travel insurance plan.
We highly recommend purchasing a Travel Protection Plan to safeguard your travel investment. To ensure coverage for pre-existing conditions, it’s best to secure this plan at the time of your initial deposit.

How do I register for a pilgrimage?
Registering online is easy and fast. Use our online registration by clicking on the trip you would like to join and selecting book now.
What does land only mean?
A “Land Only” package covers the ground portion of the trip, starting from the first hotel stay through to the final hotel checkout. It does not include airfare. Travelers are welcome to book their own flights with any airline or use frequent flyer miles. To participate in the full-day itinerary, please ensure you arrive at the airport prior to the group flight’s arrival.
What does single supplement mean?
Hotels overseas charge additional fees for travelers who choose to be in a room by themselves. This additional cost covers the fee.
Can you help me find a roommate?
If you’re traveling solo but open to sharing a room, we can often pair you with another participant to help you avoid the single supplement. Please note that the solo traveler fee will remain on your invoice until a suitable roommate is confirmed. You must select “looking for roommate” on your registration form.
When are payments due?
A deposit of $1,000 per person is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. A second payment is due six months prior to departure, with the final balance due four months before departure. Payments received after the scheduled due dates will incur a late fee of $100 per person. All payment deadlines can be found in the trip brochure.
What happens if the trip is canceled due to extenuating circumstances?
In the event your trip is canceled due to unforeseen events beyond Sacred Steps Travels’ control—such as a pandemic, war or conflict—our standard cancellation terms and conditions will still apply. This is yet another important reason to consider purchasing Trip Protection.
Will there be a lot of physical activity on the trip?
Our pilgrimages involve daily walking, which may include stairs, inclines, and uneven surfaces. We recommend that participants prepare by walking regularly before the trip. Travelers who need assistance must be accompanied by someone who is capable and able to provide the necessary support. Please note that we are not liable for any medical conditions that arise before, during, or after the journey.
Can I choose my airline seat when registering for an air and land package?
To better serve our pilgrims, we often arrange Group Air Reservations, which help ensure smoother transfers and a more consistent tour schedule. However, seat assignments for group flights are managed by the airline—not by Select International Tours. If you have specific seating preferences, we recommend booking your own airfare and choosing our “Land Only” package.
Once ticket numbers are issued (approximately three weeks before departure), you can contact the airline directly to request seat changes, add frequent flyer details, or update passenger contact information. We typically use instant purchase fares or group rates. If you change from an air and land package to a land-only option within 90 days of departure, a $150 service fee will apply, in addition to any airline penalties.
Requests for special accommodations due to medical or dietary needs must be submitted in writing at least 60 days before departure. Quotes for Business Class, Premium Economy, or departure add-ons from your local airport are available upon written request. If you require specific airlines or flight times, we encourage you to book your own flights and select the Land Only option.
